On 10 June 2006, the WPI inflation rate rose to 5.24 per cent but this is meaningless. Look at the price hike of major items which we use daily for our living. All of them rose more than 15% y-o-y.

Given the fact that major items have risen in price by 15%, there are TWO IMPORTANT points here

  1. Anyone who hasn’t got a salary hike of atleast 15% is losing out big time.(unless he has got some other income sources ;-)).  Due to bad luck people get stuck in jobs and stagnated salaries, so can’t help it. 
  2. Anyone whose investments aren’t fetching him returns of minimum 10% (like bank deposits which give us 6% max) are losing out big time too. No excuses here.
